As you prepare to put your home on the market, you know the importance of a tidy home in attracting potential buyers. That means more than a deep clean or shoving clutter in the closet space, it means letting go of unnecessary stuff for good. Chances are if it’s being shoved in a closet, attic or garage or it hasn’t been used in a year, it’s probably not important enough to keep. Empty storage containers and closets and sort through EVERYTHING! At the very least you will be well prepared for your future move. Don’t be discouraged, everyone has “stuff” thrown in the attic or piled in the back of their closet. Move slow, it’s a process not a quick solution, stay motivated. For the things you decide to keep, give them a specific place and use plenty of organizational storage containers. Donate unwanted items to your local charity or host a garage sale.
You have probably heard of Feng Shui, energy inside or outside of buildings and the energy inside your body (also referred to as Chi). De-cluttering and purging your home of unnecessary items creates positive energy flow through your home. Excess or unused items block positive energy flow in your home. A fresh, clean and vibrant energy often attracts home buyers, making them better able to imagine living there. It will also serve to boost your daily living. A good energy flow leads to greater productivity and overall satisfaction! Do yourself and your house some good by getting rid of all that “stuff”!
