Are open houses a thing of the past? I doubt it, but the purpose of an open house has probably changed. Having an open house has always been used as a tool to gain buyer leads for Realtors. But in today’s real estate market with the technology that’s out there and the ability of today’s buyers to use this technology we aren’t likely to see as many buyers as we used to visiting open houses. It used to be about looking through some Polaroid pictures in a binder, and the only way to truly see what the house looks like was to visit the home. Now, with digital pictures, visual/virtual tours, and video tours you can feel like you are getting a tour of the home without ever leaving your bedroom. With the gas prices where they are today not even buyers are going to waste their gas driving from one open house to another. Why should they when it is all online? We have a different way of real estate now. Open houses aren’t necessarily out the window. There are people viewing open houses, but remember that not all of them are planning to move. For those that are planning to relocate to Myrtle Beach there are plenty of great opportunities out there. If can’t find what you are looking for contact the Willis Team and let us help you find these opportunities.
