The Myrtle Beach airport will now be offering non stop flights to Toronto, Canada. The flights will only be offered twice a week, Thursdays and Sundays, from February 28 to May 30, 2010. The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce says this is the best time for the flights because 40% of Canadians visit in the first quarter of the year. Myrtle Beach’s annual Canadian American Days Festival begins in February and ends in March. Porter Airlines, the company offering the flights, hopes it will save passengers time and attract everyone from golfers to families. The new flights also put Myrtle Beach International back in the international business. The airport has not offered non stop international flights since 2006, when Hooters Air offered a flight to the Bahamas.
