Seems the Hard Rock Park’s closing was just a temporary thing. The one thing that will change is the Park’s Name. It appears the original owners and Hard Rock International had an issue with investors taking over the park they designed, to include the name. So the Investment Company, FPI MB Entertainment LLC, decided to keep peace and name the park “Freestyle Music Park”.
The original opening date for Hard Rock Park was April 15, 2008, but shortly afterward closed for financial reasons on September 24, 2008. The Investment Group that came up with the idea of the Hard Rock Park and its design was HRP Myrtle Beach Operations, LLC. The Franchise was reported to be in the range of $1.5 Million when first launched and then another $2.5 Million on an annual basis. After the closing in September, Hard Rock International tried to be released from the licensing agreement claiming breach of contract along with the damaging impression the Park would have on the Hard Rock Brand.
On February 17, 2009, in the Delaware Bankruptcy Court, the judge approved the sale for $25 million of the
park to FPI MB Entertainment LLC. Shortly after, Hard Rock International had stipulations that they wanted in order to keep the original park’s name, Hard Rock Park. However, on April 2nd, 2009, the new owners decided it would be best to change the name, as they thought it would also change the negative impact that the original park had after filing bankruptcy.

Everything will still be the same within the 55 acre park that sits on a total of 140 acres with the exception of adding a few rides over time to make the park more desirable to families and a few rides would be re-named, to include the Led Zeppelin and the Eagles Roller Coasters. The admission prices will also be reduced. Rumors are, the daily admission will be less than $40.00 for adults with the annual pass at approximately $75.00. With the original park’s prices last year at $50.00 for a daily admission and the annual amount almost double what the new park is stating, this should keep Freestyle Music Park in line to compete with Carowinds out of Charlotte, NC. The park has more than 50 attractions that will be suitable for all ages, with live shows, children’s play areas, cafes/restaurants, retail stores and a live music amphitheater that can seat up to 10,000 with more room for standing fans as well!!
