Grand Strand builders are reporting that for the first time in 2 years business is up. The beginning of 2009 was slow for builders with permits dropping to almost 50% but the number of permits has steadily increased since then. There is no guarantee permits will continue to increase. Myrtle Beach is on track but it is going to take some time to decide if things will turn around in the future. Builders are staying optimistic and hoping promotions like the first time home buyer’s tax credit will help.
