Love posts about social events that are going on in the are because sometime you are just too busy to realize that there is so much to do in your area. My friends just left Myrtle Beach from vacation and had a blast.
So how to make your own Oktoberfest? It's a good idea to sample some of the commercial varieties available to get an inkling of what flavors you are looking to capture. Some folks say that a 'biscuity' or 'toasty' flavor is desirable. Others stress that an Oktoberfest home brew beer shouldn't be too hoppy. Ultimately, your personal preference should trump anyone else's opinion.
