North Myrtle Beach’s 2009 Monday After the Masters.
This past Monday on the 13th of April, North Myrtle Beach held its 15th annual Monday After the Masters Celebrity Golf Tournament. The Grand Strand’s Barefoot Resort has hosted the Monday After the Masters Celebrity Golf Tournament at the Dye Course for 7 straight years. It has also been named “The Hootie & The Blowfish Monday After The Masters Tournament”. This wonderful tournament helps to raise the biggest single day fundraiser for the state of South Carolina.
The list of celebrities to help make this tournament a success were PGA Golfer John Daly, NASCAR Driver Kyle Petty, Actor Bill Murray, Actor Samuel L. Jackson, Pro Wrestler Ric Flair, Retired Pro Football Player Jerome Bettis, Retired Pro Football Player Jim McMahon, Retired Pro Football Player Sterling Sharpe, Retired Pro Football Player George Rogers, Retired Pro Football Player Kordell Stewart, along with South Carolina Head Football Coach Steve Spurrier and of course the lead singer of Hootie and the Blowfish Darius Rucker.
This was the 4th consecutive year that the Dye Club had an estimated 6,000+ golf fans attend this wonderful event. The team that won this year’s tournament was led by Mark Bryan, Bill Murray and Woody Austin. Each of these celebrities come not only for the fun and laughter of the company they are surrounded with while playing golf, they come to help raise funds for our wonderful state and to give to those in need for education. Hopefully next year we will see even more fans and celebrities for the 16th Annual Tournament!!
