Break away from the typical lunch or dinner restaurant celebration for Father’s Day this year. Bring Dad to celebrate at one of Myrtle Beach’s summer hot spots. Broadway at the Beach is celebrating Father’s Day by hosting Dad Rocks Day, a day for family festivities celebrating all special Dads all across the Grand Strand. If you are feeling more adventurous get Dad in FREE at Freestyle Music Park with the purchase of another adult ticket.
Father’s Day came to be when a young motherless girl named Sonora Smart Dodd thought the devoted and loving father that raised her should be celebrated, in 1909 while listening to a sermon for the already established Mother’s Day. Sonora believed her Father deserved the same recognition and celebrated in June, his birthday month! 63 years later, in 1972 President Richard Nixon declared the third Sunday of June to be a nationally celebrated Father’s Day. Don’t forget to show your dad love and appreciation this Sunday!
