The Cherry Grove Pier in North Myrtle Beach has been a popular tourist destination for many years. In 1964, Walter Maxwell caught a 1780 pound world record tiger shark, still to this day Maxwell holds the record for the only all tackle world record ever caught in South Carolina. The pier has withstood the test of hurricanes and is now bigger and better than ever. The pier now features a two story observation deck and a fully equipped bait shop.
