The California-Carolina League All-Star Game will be hosted by the Myrtle Beach Pelicans in 2010. The game will be played on June 22, 2010 at the BB&T Coastal Field. Winston-Salem is building a new ballpark that was scheduled to open in 2009 and may not be ready by opening day of 2010 and after considering those, the team contacted the Pelicans and asked them if they would be interested in taking over. The Pelicans just hosted the game in 2008 and didn’t expect it to happen again for at least a decade. The publicity from this game will definitely put Myrtle Beach on the sports map. The franchise has yet to finalize the ticket information.
